YOUR QUESTION, ANSWERED

What should I know before booking?

Garage clearance usually involves mixed stored items, not just garden waste. We just need to know what is going, how we get to it, and anything heavy or unusual.

Read the common questions

WHAT THIS SERVICE COVERS

What is involved in clearing a garage?

Most garages hold a mix of things to keep, things someone else could use, and junk. Before we start, tell us what stays and point out anything heavy, sharp or hazardous.

Household storage clutter

Old boxes, shelving and years of stored junk.

Old furniture and fittings

Old furniture and bulky items. Point out any sofas or electricals.

Garden and DIY equipment

Old tools and equipment. Batteries, fuel, solvents and paint need checking first.

After-move or end-of-tenancy clearances

Clearing the garage as a distinct part of a move-out rather than paying for a full property clearance.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

A practical garage clearance checklist

Set aside valuables, keys, documents and any tools you wish to keep. If there are gas bottles, fuel, chemicals, asbestos or batteries, tell us first, as they need specialist handling.

Vehicle access can be the main constraint. Tell us if the garage is behind a narrow lane, away from parking or reachable only through the house. Photos of the doorway and load are useful.

PRICES & QUOTATIONS

How a garage clearance is priced

The price depends on how many items, how heavy they are and how far we carry them. Send pictures of the contents as they currently stand.

Clearing the whole home as well?

If the garage is just one part of a larger job, our House Clearance service covers full and partial property clearances. For a few pieces, consider Rubbish Removal.

PLAN YOUR SERVICE

A checklist for clearing a garage safely

Garages often contain the most varied waste in a property. Cardboard and old shelving can sit alongside heavy tools, unknown liquids, paint tins, batteries and broken electrical appliances. It helps to separate what you can identify before anything is loaded.

Storage and everyday clutter

Put aside tools and items you are keeping, and identify furniture, boxes, shelving and timber that should be removed. If shelving is fixed to the wall, state whether dismantling is part of your request.

DIY and workshop leftovers

Paint, solvents, oil, gas bottles, batteries and unlabelled tins need checking first, and some need a specialist. Do not mix these with bags of household rubbish.

Heavy or awkward objects

Show the size of workbenches, cabinets, old doors and other bulky pieces. Mention whether the garage opens onto a road, a shared access way or a narrow rear lane.

Before you request a quote

  1. Sort things into keep, go and not sure.
  2. Photograph the floor, shelving, corners and garage approach; show large items from more than one angle.
  3. Check whether the garage is accessible for loading and whether a collection vehicle can stop nearby.

How booking works

  1. Send photos or a list

WhatsApp a few pictures of the garage, or tell us what there is.

  2. Get a clear quote

We price the job before we come out, so there are no surprises.

  3. We load it and take it away

Our team does the lifting and leaves the area clear.

CLEAR ANSWERS

Garage Clearance FAQs

Quick answers to what people ask us most.

Will you clear just part of my garage?

Yes. Mark what is going and what is staying.

Can you take paint, fuel or gas cylinders?

Do not include these automatically. They may need special disposal, so declare them before booking.

Do I need to sort everything first?

You do not need to make it spotless, but please separate valuables and clearly identify the items you want to keep.

How long does a garage clearance take?

It depends on the volume, types of items and access. Send a few photos and we will price it.

Can I hire a skip instead?

Yes, if you have a safe placement area and would rather load the garage contents over several days. See Skip Hire for sizes and prices.

Can you take old paint and oil from my garage?

Do not add liquids, paint, oils, fuels or other unidentified chemicals to a general garage-clearance load without approval. Mention them when you get in touch.

Do I need to empty the garage myself first?

Yes. Set aside anything you want to keep and point out anything unsafe. Tell us if any fitted shelving or heavy equipment requires dismantling.

Clearing a Worthing garage, room by room

Garages collect everything. Old paint tins, broken bikes, boxes from three moves ago, a freezer that stopped working. Many garage clearances take a couple of hours, depending on how full the garage is.

Paint, chemicals, gas bottles and car batteries cannot go in with general waste, so put them to one side and tell us about them. Old fridges and freezers are collected separately too.

If the garage is part of a bigger clear-out, such as the house and the garden shed, we can do it all in one visit for a single price. If you would rather fill something yourself over a few weekends, a skip bag or 4-yard skip is often cheaper.
