What kind of mattress needs collecting?
Mattresses vary by width, depth and weight. A foam mattress, pocket-sprung mattress and heavier hybrid can require different handling. Let us know if a bed frame, headboard or divan base is also being removed.

Larger items whose size and access route must be checked in advance.

Yes. Add the divan, frame or headboard and we will include it in the price.

Preparing a mattress for collection
Please tell us the size, approximate condition and where the mattress is located. If it is upstairs, tell us the floor and whether the stairs are tight.
In a D J Recycling skip, mattresses are accepted at no extra charge. Tell us about any other furniture at the same time so the collection is correctly quoted.

Mattress collection: what to tell us before booking
An unwanted mattress is awkward because of its dimensions, its weight and the difficulty of moving it through a home. A small single mattress and a soaked king-size mattress are not equivalent collection jobs.
Size and quantity
Tell us whether the mattress is single, small double, double, king or super king. If several mattresses are involved, list every size separately.
Condition and handling
Tell us if it is wet or badly damaged. If you are hiring a skip from us, mattresses can go in with your mixed waste at no extra charge.
Stairs, bed bases and access
Identify the floor level, lift availability and whether the bed frame or base also needs collection. The cost and work can change when more than a mattress is involved.
Before you request a quote
- Photograph each mattress and confirm its size and condition.
- Describe how it can leave the property and where the collection vehicle can stop.
- Mention additional divan bases, bed frames or upholstered furniture rather than including them without discussion.

Do you have a fixed mattress disposal price?

Can I add a divan base and bed frame to the mattress booking?
Tell us about all additional pieces and their sizes. A quote for one mattress does not automatically include a heavy divan, wooden frame or additional upholstered items.
What if the mattress is wet or damaged?
Describe the condition and include a photograph where practical. Wet or contaminated items need checking before we collect them.
